Welcome to the home page of

Autumn begins with much needed rain here in the Tennessee Mountains followed by blustery winds as the temperature starts dropping bringing chilly nights. Frosty mornings will change the leaves to brilliant fall colors along with the sound of Canadian geese honking overhead as they migrate south. This is also the season when squirrels go wild racing around hoarding nuts and there is an air of urgency to get everything ready before winter arrives.

Wood has been stacked in the shed and sticks gathered for kindling while the wood-stoves and pipes have been cleaned out ready for the first fire. The atmosphere is filled with the anticipation of coming holidays along with wood smoke curling upwards and falling leaves. In the garden the last of the fresh veggies are harvested and stored for later.

 Ah yes.., autumn has arrived.
