Welcome to the home page of

Summer with its hot and humid days as the temperature soars has arrived here in the Tennessee Mountains. We are still getting summer showers bringing much needed moisture to the gardens that will slowly fade away into dry scorching seemingly endless days. I love sitting out on the porch during a drenching summer rainstorm smelling the parched earth turn into mud and watching the faded dusty green become alive again while listening to the pitter patter of the rain.

This is the time of year when it seems impossible to keep up with the weeds and hedges growing wild before one's eyes. It is also when the long days of canning season begins harvesting fresh veggies from the garden that you picked that morning. At last the moment comes when you pick the first ripe warm tomato you have been anticipating for weeks. Ah yes, summer has arrived.

So stay cool!!!
